Scottish Fabians
Scottish Fabians launched in spring 2012 as the left came to terms with the challenge posed by the SNP and the forthcoming independence referendum
Scottish Fabians is a voluntary section of the Fabian Society, alongside local societies, the Young Fabians, Fabians Women’s Network and Welsh Fabians. Scottish Fabians is run autonomously by a voluntary committee with its own constitution.
Scottish Fabians launched in spring 2012 as the left came to terms with the challenge posed by the SNP and the forthcoming independence referendum. Now Brexit and the threat of a second referendum pose further threats and challenges for the left. In 2016 Scottish Fabians took on a dedicated national manager.
The scale of the challenge demands rigorous debate and radical ideas. Scottish Fabians hope to provide a space for that debate to happen.
We organise events and conferences around Scotland, all designed to provoke debate and allow a free exchange of views. We have also published a range of ideas, both in the form of traditional Fabian printed pamphlets and as online blogs and articles.
